Sounders Set To Be Sent Homewards To Think Again

Ah, there’s nothing like a local derby to get the heart thumping. It’s even better when it actually means something, but we’ll have to wait until next year for that and make do with a pre season friendly for now.

The visit of our Cascadia rivals Seattle Sounders on Saturday sees the Whitecaps first match on home soil since the Championship first leg tie against Montreal in October.

Five long months without live football to watch is a killer. The Olympics filled some of that void, but it’s still too long.

Seattle fans clearly feel the same way and at least 150 of them are expected to make the cross border journey this weekend for the precursor to our soon to be electric MLS rivalry.

Despite the crappy 4pm kick off time meaning I’ll miss around the first 20 minutes, I can’t wait, and as part of the pre match build up the Southsiders took part in a podcast with the excellent Prost Amerika website which you can listen to HERE.

Warning: It’s very Scottish!

It’s 27 minutes of banter about everything from the Caps to the MLS to gold medal hockey games and of course the smelly people of Cowdenbeath.

For those of you wanting to read the article that’s mentioned towards the end of the interview around awaydays in the MLS, you can read it HERE.

Roll on Saturday.
