There’s Still (Extra) Time – Episode 14 [Canada Against The World]

We’re back with another ‘Extra’ podcast for our subscribers. Not one of those yet? Well keep reading to see how to remedy that.

Episode 14 is a 67 minute show looking at football in Canada at the international level.

First up, we bring you a 12 minute conference call with Canadian men’s national team head coach John Herdman and his new assistant, former Montreal Impact coach, Mauro Biello. The pair chat about their vision for bringing young Canadian players through clubs here to the national team, and plans to make the overall program better from youth to the senior team.

Moving away from just the Canadian national team we turn our attention to what could be the biggest event in Canadian soccer history as they bid to host the 2026 World Cup along with the US and Mexico. We bring you a 40 minute conference call on the ‘United’ bid and hear from the soccer leaders from all three countries on how the bid is shaping up, what lies ahead, worries about FIFA and corruption, thoughts on Vancouver dropping out as a host city, wilt anti-Trump sentiment derail it, and lots more.
