VISL Round-up: Gorge remain unbeaten as gap opens up between top sides and the rest

The Thanksgiving weekend wrapped up with all the week 5 Division 1 games being played according to schedule.

The biggest talking points of this past weekend were…

* Westcastle were virtually seconds away from earning a draw with Vic West before the green and whites scored on the last play of the game to secure the big three points.

* Lakehill surprisingly blanked Bays, who are struggling out of the gates this year.

* Comox battle hard versus Gorge but the Division 1 leaders remain unbeaten after a solid outing of their own.

* Nanaimo United and Vancouver Island Wave get their second draw each on the early season – will those come back to haunt them?

* Cowichan come down Island and take down a hungry Vantreights squad who are still looking for their first points of the season.

Here’s the full Division 1 scores and scorers from the Thanksgiving weekend matches.
