Canadian Footy Corner Podcast: Episodes 1 and 2 of the new CPL podcast are out now
As part of our Canadian Premier League coverage, we’ve been looking to add some great writers and some great podcasts onto AFTN. We hope you’ve all been enjoying the great work from our team so far, we’ve a lot more to come over this first season of CPL action (you can check out their profiles on our Team Page and give them a follow on Twitter).
Jon Peckitt is our York 9 writer (check out his first two articles HERE), and we haven’t announced this yet, but long time journalist, and my former West Coast Soccer Weekly co-host, Pierce Lang is coming on board as our Forge FC guy.
The pair are old friends, with a shared love of the game, so it only made sense for them to do a podcast together chatting about all things CPL. The first two episodes of Canadian Footy Corner are out now, and we’re delighted to announce that we’ll be bringing you the episodes each week here on AFTN, as part of our ever growing CPL coverage, but make sure you subscribe to them as well on all the usual podcast places.
In episode 1, Jon and Pierce chat about some of the players signed by the clubs for the inaugural season, take a look at the schedule, and delve into the Media Pro deal.
In episode 2, the guys have a chat with Anthony Totera about his role with the CPL and what the league will mean to players around the world, and take a look at some loan deals announced, the free ticket initiative for the league’s first ever match, and the Nike sponsorship deal.
You can find the first two episodes of the show on Soundcloud, or you can listen to them on the players below:
