Episode 454 – The AFTN Soccer Show (Breaking Point with special guest Matthew Baldisimo)

The latest AFTN Soccer Show is out for another packed show of Vancouver Whitecaps and MLS.

It may feel that the MLS season has only just started but perhaps aptly ahead of the upcoming Friends reunion, the Whitecaps are on a break. A lengthy 27 day one between matches. They head into it on a three game losing streak, but at least this gives them time to regroup, work on some key areas, and hopefully make some additions to the squad.

We delve into that latest loss against Houston and try and work out where it all went wrong again, plus we hear from both head coaches, Marc Dos Santos and Tab Ramos. So what should the priorities be to work on over the coming weeks? We take a look into the major areas that need work. Let us know what you feel they should be working on most.

Plus we round up the best of the action across MLS this past weekend, bring you some football stories from around the world that caught our eyes this week, and our feature interview is with Pacific FC midfielder Matthew Baldisimo as we chat about his first two seasons in the CPL, what lies ahead for the team, and about his call up to the Philippines national team for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Here’s the rundown for the main segments from the episode:

01.32: Intro and football cards
06.43: Houston v Vancouver postgame analysis and coaches audio
48.23: How should the Whitecaps use their break?
74.47: MLS weekend round-up
115.35: Around The World – some stories that have caught our eye
