Episode 601 – The AFTN Soccer Show (It’s All About To Kick Off)

We’re back with another AFTN Soccer Show packed full of Vancouver Whitecaps and Major League Soccer chat.

Vancouver Whitecaps’ CONCACAF Champions Cup dreams are over for another year after a good performance, but ultimately a defeat against Tigres. We look back at the second leg, the takeaways from both matches heading into the league campaign, and get some postgame thoughts from Vanni Sartini.

The 2024 MLS season kicks off this week, sans Whitecaps, and there’s a lot to talk about.

We look at the brand new kits that will be worn this season, starting with the Whitecaps’ navy and gold 50th anniversary kit, and we pick our five best and worst jerseys from the new crop. We also look at the new initiatives that we’ll see implemented in the league this season and find out whether goal-line technology is on the league’s radar. But who will implement these new initiatives? Well a bunch of replacement officials to begin with it appears as MLS and PRO lock out the current group of referees. What impact will this have in the first round of matches?
