Episode 222 – The AFTN Soccer Show (PIFL featuring Kendall Waston, Stefan Marinovic, Deklan Wynne, and Jordan Harvey)
What a week in Whitecapsland!
It started with a horror show Cascadia derby defeat in Seattle, was followed by a smash and grab victory in Kansas City, and ended with Vancouver Whitecaps clinching a playoff spot and needing just three more points from their remaining games to grab a first round bye.
We look back at both matches, standout players, the Whitecaps tactics and hear from Vancouver head coach Carl Robinson and his Sporting KC counterpart Peter Vermes.
We also turn our attention to the upcoming World Cup qualifiers with some international Whitecaps, as we talk Costa Rica with Kendall Waston, and New Zealand with Stefan Marinovic and Deklan Wynne.
And there’s still time to look at the death throes of WFC2, talk fish and chips with Robert Earnshaw, chat with Jordan Harvey about his favourite season, and have The Fall return for this week’s Wavelength section.

FYI, I think the most amusing scenario for non-US fans is: Syria beats Australia, US finishes 4th, Trump travel ban prevents Syrian players/coaches/trainers from entering the US, FIFA awards Syria a 3-0 win with a US forfeit.
Sadly tonight’s game makes all this seem a non starter now, but that would have been a fantastic way for their campaign to end!
