Episode 455 – The AFTN Soccer Show (Dog Eat Dog with Marc Dos Santos and John Herdman)

The latest AFTN Soccer Show is out for another packed show of Vancouver Whitecaps, MLS, and Canadian national team chat.

It’s a busy busy time in North American football. The MLS season is well underway and we’re heading into a very intense period on the international stage, and we’ve got it all covered for you in this episode.

Our feature interview is with Vancouver Whitecaps head coach Marc Dos Santos as we look back at the good, the bad, and the ugly of the ‘Caps season so far and what may lie in store for the season to come. When are reinforcements coming? Will we ever see Ali Adnan in a Whitecaps jersey on the pitch again? Will MAC Hermann Trophy winner Gloire Amanda come back into the ‘Caps fold? And does MDS feel on the hot seat? We chat about all of that and more.

The Whitecaps are in the midst of a 27 day break as international action takes centre stage. Canada are getting set for what will hopefully be four World Cup qualifiers in June. We look at the games ahead and the squad announced to get them into the Octagon, plus we hear some thoughts from head coach John Herdman.

All of that, plus we round up the best of the action across MLS this past weekend.

Here’s the rundown for the main segments from the episode:

01.31: Intro and football cards
07.37: Marc Dos Santos interview
34.46: Unpacking MDS
76.11: MLS weekend round-up
114.51: Canadian national team chat with audio from John Herdman
