Episode 462 – The AFTN Soccer Show (Lapses and Collapses – Dallas v Whitecaps, Ali Adnan leaves, Chris Armas sacking, MLS and CPL round-ups)

The latest AFTN Soccer Show is out for another packed show of Vancouver Whitecaps, MLS, and Canadian Premier League chat.

It was more stoppage time heartbreak for the Whitecaps on Sunday night, giving up a late equaliser to draw 2-2 in Dallas. We pick over the bones of the game, ponder the ‘Caps stoppage time woes, worry about what this latest late lapse will do the team, and look ahead at what’s to come. Plus we hear some thoughts from Whitecaps head coach Marc Dos Santos and centre back Andy Rose.

The other big Whitecaps news this weekend was the club parting ways with Iraqi left-back Ali Adnan. We look at a move that was probably the best option for both sides, but still a disappointing one, and hear from the ‘Caps CEO and Sporting Director Axel Schuster about the whole ridiculous situation.

The big MLS story this weekend was the sacking of Toronto FC head coach Chris Armas after his side’s 7-1 shellacking by DC United. We look at that decision, hear from TFC’s Bill Manning and Ali Curtis, and round up all the top weekend action across MLS.

The Canadian Premier League is in full flow. We look at the action so far and hear from FC Edmonton head coach Alan Koch, Valour FC’s Rob Gale, and Cavalry FC head coach Tommy Wheeldon Jr.
