Episode 465 – The AFTN Soccer Show (Homeward Bound – Vancouver v Houston, Whitecaps heading home, BC derby in Canadian Championship, Ollie Bassett and Matteo Polisi interviews)

The latest AFTN Soccer Show is out for another packed show of Vancouver Whitecaps, MLS, and Canadian Premier League chat.

The Whitecaps looked to build on their weekend win with a game against Houston Dynamo on Tuesday night. It was a bit of a snoozefest, but we look back at the 0-0 draw, hear from coaches Marc Dos Santos and Tab Ramos, look ahead to the next game against LAFC, and chat about the big Whitecaps news this week – they’re finally heading back to Vancouver (with thoughts from MDS and James Merriman).

We also look at the exciting BC derby with Pacific FC that was announced for next month’s Canadian Championship, talk about Pacific’s start to the CPL season with assistant coach James Merriman, and bring you two feature interviews with Pacific players – midfielder Ollie Bassett and forward Matteo Polisi.

Here’s the rundown for the main segments from the episode:

04.43: Whitecaps v Dynamo match analysis and coaches audio
31.35: The Whitecaps are finally coming home to Vancouver!
36.08: MLS round-up and LAFC preview
47.47: Pacific v Whitecaps set for Canadian Championship
65.35: Ollie Bassett interview
96.35: Pacific FC discussion with James Merriman
