Episode 605 – The AFTN Soccer Show (Sunlight Through Our Window with guests Matias Laborda, Elage Bah, and Afshin Ghotbi)

We’re back with another AFTN Soccer Show packed full of Vancouver Whitecaps, Major League Soccer, and Vancouver FC chat.

The Whitecaps remain unbeaten to start the MLS season after a fantastic display down in Dallas that saw them come away with back-to-back road wins to sit second in the Western Conference. We break down the ins and outs of that match, plus we round up this weekend’s action in the MLS Western Conference.

We’ve two feature interviews with you this week. First up is Whitecaps centre-back Mathias Laborda. As he continues to impress this year, we chat with Mati about his first season in Vancouver, finding his feet in the league as the season wrapped up, and his hopes for this year, which could include facing off against former teammate Luis Suarez.

Next up we turn our attention to Vancouver FC as we sit down for a chat with a man who’s made the move from WFC2 to the CPL, full-back Elage Bah. We talk with Elage about his interesting journey and career so far, how the ups and downs of football shape a player and a person, and look ahead at what’s to come. Plus we hear from VFC head coach Afshin Ghotbi about the club’s impressive offseason rebuild.
