Episode 637 – The AFTN Soccer Show (Decisions, Decisions with Dario Zanatta, Miki Cantave, Afshin Ghotbi, and Rob Gale)

We’re back with another AFTN Soccer Show packed full of Vancouver Whitecaps, Major League Soccer, and Canadian Premier League chat and interviews, as decision day in both leagues looms.

It’s a CPL heavy episode as we look at the battle facing the two BC teams trying to make the playoffs. We look at the path ahead for both Pacific and Vancouver, hear from VFC head coach Afshin Ghotbi, and we bring you two feature interviews.

First up is Pacific forward Dario Zanatta. The former Whitecap talks about his move back to Canada to play in the CPL with his hometown team, the highs and lows of his nine year spell in Scotland, his season with Pacific so far, and the battle for the postseason. Next up is Vancouver’s Miki Cantave. We chat with Miki about his career so far, his European adventures, coming back to Canada, joining VFC, playing for Haiti, and his friendship with the Whitecaps’ Fafa Picault.

All of this, plus we look ahead to Vancouver Whitecaps’ big Decision Day showdown in Utah as they battle for MLS placing, hear from assistant coach Michael D’Agostino about the big game with RSL, and we catch up with former Valour, and current Portland Thorns, head coach Rob Gale about his transition into the women’s game and taking a familiar face with him.
