Vancouver Whitecaps v Portland Timbers – The Story In Pictures
Carl Robinson can chalk up another Vancouver Whitecaps first as the ‘Caps finally got a home win against their Cascadian rivals from Portland.
They may have got it by playing like it was an away game, but three points is three points and the Whitecaps now sit just one point off the top of both the Western Conference and Supporters Shield standings after their most successful opening month of their MLS era.
Another never say die, fight to the end performance as well. Three straight heart stoppers now, thanks to a stunning Nicolas Mezquida free kick, some tremendous saves from David Ousted and yet another debut goal for Robert Earnshaw.
AFTN photographer Tom Ewasiuk was there to capture all the action before, during and after the game and here’s his “Story In Pictures” [Check out his website www.residualimagephotography.com for more of his photos and work].
