Episode 365 – The AFTN Soccer Show (The State of the Whitecaps 2019 with special guest Marc Dos Santos)

It’s a time for trophy presentations and champions to be crowned, but for Vancouver Whitecaps, it’s a time to get themselves better.

It’s another important offseason for the ‘Caps, one in which they need to make significant improvements to try and become a playoff team again. The spotlight and the pressure is on head coach Marc Dos Santos as he scours the globe looking for the players to make all that happen.

He joins AFTN this week for an in-depth 45 minute chat about Whitecaps past, present, and future. Where did it all go wrong this year? How much has he questioned himself? What state is the club currently in? How does he go ahead rebuilding the squad and where may we see the new additions coming from and fitting in? All this and a lot, lot more are covered.

Zlatan is great at promoting the “Zlatan” brand. He doesn’t miss a chance. This is a sideshow and he knows it and has fun with it. He knows he has to deliver on the field and does. Every team he’s ever been on he’s come through. Will Vela score 27+ goals when he’s 38 ?

Zach, if you think Zlatan is a “clown” you don’t get Zlatan. Put him in a Whitecaps kit and you’ll be able to remove the lower bowl tarps. He’s great for business. As far as MDS and LAFC are concerned, MDS should remember that LAFC are the chosen ones and his time there is skewed. Vela, like Martinez the year before, have MLS skunkworks doing their thing. ok,”Buddy”.
