More Chances To See Caps Squad Take Shape

For those of you that can’t wait until the season begins and need that live action fix now, the Whitecaps announced some more pre-season fixtures this week and there’s a couple of chances for us to get our vocal chords in fine working order for the season ahead.

I don’t know about anyone else, but Saturday killed my throat. I hate that early season fatigue!

The game’s are all pretty much low key and kick off this coming Saturday at noon, with an inter squad match on field 5 up at the Burnaby Lakes Sports Complex. The following Saturday (20th) sees a trip to the island to take on the UVic Vikes in Victoria and I’m sure a few of us (the lucky ones that aren’t working like me!) will fancy a trip over the water.

The Province had mentioned last week that a game in the States was in the works against Portland and so it has come to pass. Friday 26th will see us take on the Timbers at the Sounders old home of the Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila in Washington. That’s a strange one, but not so much as the 10.30am kick off that’s put the kibosh on my plans of heading down south for that one!

The last game that has currently been announced is on March 31st against the UBC Thunderbirds at Thunderbird Park. No time has been announced for this one, but hopefully it will be an evening game, or at least late afternoon, to give more of us the chance to head out to this one.

If you’re planning on heading along to any of the games, let’s get some carpooling going and get as many people out as we can. Head over to the FORUM and let us know.
